can you use a 2t head gasket on a 2tg and just rework around the timing chain cover, as they are cheaper to buy than the 2tg.
thanks

yep, i haven't done this personally but heard it been done a few times before, the blocks are almost identical so the gasket would be. Just make sure you put the gasket goo, or make up a gasket out of gasket paper somehow for the timing chain cover and put that on before you put the head gasket on. If you don't seal it good enough you'll have to take the head off again to fix oil leaks.
definately a cheaper option but!!

TRUE, sounds like the 2tg gasket is just the way to go, otherwise there is extra mucking around.
