Blow Off Valve On 1JZ

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has fitted the Blitz DD Blow Off Valve to their late model 1JZ with VVti and single turbo? I want to fit one on my JZX100, but I was afraid I might run into stalling problems and idling issues? Any comments anyone???

As far as I know VVTI 1JZ's have an air flow meter....so I suspect you will suffer the same effects as installing a non recirculating BOV as on any AFM car (if a 'Blitz DD Blow Off Valve' is non recirculating, I'm not familiar, or interested for that matter in the specs of it so I'll just assume it vents to atmosphere ).
The ECU will think the engine is taking in that air (and not assume that it is being vented to atmosphere), I think that will make it run rich between gear changes (or when the BOV is cycled) and prbly backfire.
Not sure tho, just what I suspect would happen... if your just after it for the 'cool' noise I think you are wasting you time
(I doubt the stock one has any problems?....)
Cheers
Wilbo

hks super sequential (spelling?) bovs are supposed to work well on afm cars i dont know of anyone using one on a 1jz but have seen them being used on many afm sr20's and their owners say its the only one that they have used that dosent make the idle ruf or the car stall

I don't see why they should affect the idle...
They are closed when at idle... So I don't understand the rough idle...

Depending on the BOV, it may not be fully closed at idle.

Good way to avoid a possible problem is to not fit a BOV.Use the cash for something useful. Cheers.Pete.

agreed. Wait until your current one is leaking or in my case get a turbo upgrade and can't use the old one

I have finally got around to installing. I had to get an adaptor made up, so thats why it has been so long, since I am so lazy .
The first time I installed it, I had stalling issues. In between shifts, the revs would juz drop and feels like the engine will stall out. I then spent the whole nite trying to figure out a way to get around it.
I then found the solution!!! Now it doesnt stall at ALL!!! Its perfect now, well almost. I just have to adjust the blow off valve a bit, since it only opens at very high boost, not medium boost.

Just wait One day when you give it some its gunna backfire with a vengeance and you'll think twice about putting a venting BOV again.

race fuel?
PHWOAR!
that must have made like 30rwkw difference, at least. where did you buy it from? I've been trying to find a way to get heaps cheap power out of my car, but I cant afford NOS and I'm worried there might be danger to my manifold if I use too much of it.
