question for sw20 MR2 nut!

Hi
Nearly completed conversion of an Aussie 94 GT MR2 with 91 Jap spec turbo mechanicals. The Jap spec intercooler had no fan on it. I had to remove the fan from the side air vent in my Aussie MR2 to fit the intercooler. Is the Australian fan from the side air vent the same used on a 91 Jap spec turbo intercooler?
Sorry for such a silly question....BUT where/who else could I ask?

ive heard most using a thermofan, 8" i think....
davies craig sort works well, blowing off hot air.
