there's differing views on whether surge tanks (in the boot) are a good idea or not.

there's a few recent threads about this - centering on whether fumes are an issue, and the pros/cons of various installs.

If you can get some kind of surge protection in the tank and an in-tank EFI pump then you'll sidestep this problem (mostly).

cheers, charles.

Hi,

Why go EFI? It won't give you any more power.

economy
drivability
cold/hot starts
low down torque

with no sacrifice to top end power.

then of course its a whole new world if your considering forced induction

my surge tank is in the engine bay. I have a liftback so choices are limited. I think the different locations all have their down points. One positive of my set up is i used the original mechanical fuel pump as a lift pump to feed the surge tank.
