installing a high flow ct26 onto an mr2 Mon, 24 January 2005 01:06 Go to next message
Sorry a noob to this sort of thing but i'm changing from a standard to a high flow ct26. Sierra compressor wheel and a steel exhaust wheel.

Will this automatically mean my car will run higher boost? Has anyone performed a similar change and what boost did the have?

My car is completely stock except for the highflow. Just need to know if i have to knock up an FCD.

u running stock intercooler? stock exhaust too??

YIKES

fuel cut is there for a good reason man, i'd be hesitant to install a FCD unless i knew everything was up to the task. I'd also put in a good management system before hiflowing the turbo

ct26 so u've got a gen II?? stock ecu runs out of maps at 12psi.

stock boost is what 10?

my understanding of hi flowing was that it still runs the same boost pressure but more flow/air hmmm now i say that thats kinda the same thing isnt it. ah im sure someone will clear it up for us

cheers

agreed upgrade the inrercooler and the exhaust as the stock exhaust will restrict the amount of boost you can make. For example a friend with a liberty gt runs 14psi it makes 14ps at 3-4k rpm at 4.5k rpm the boost drops back to 10psi by 5k because of stock exhaust. Also a bigger exhaust will help the turbo spool up.

Sorry, its not completely stock, it does have a fujitsubo exhaust system. The intercooler is stock though.
