Im having trouble finding a dizzy for my 4agze equiped mr2 and toyota wanter $975 excluding gst and a 14 day wait for one. So ive decided i might aswell bite the bullet and go an aftermarket ecu. I was thinking microtech. I was wondering if anyone knew how good the mtx8 is?
I would get the coils as part of the deal but im assuming i will need to get 4 ignighters aswell. How much do ignighters cost?
Could i use the ignighters from a 100kw 4age?
As i wouldnt be using the distributer is there another sensor that the microtech can run off?
Does the microtech need any of its own sensors or can it run of the factory sensors.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as would anyone that has a 4AGZE dizzy for sale.

AFAIK the AW11 4agze setup uses a single dizzy and coil setup, exactly the same as a 4age.
thus a 4age dissy will work, would it not?

so what ur saying is that u need a dizzy no matter what.
I have a 4age dizzy but the pins on the connector to the loom are different and there is a plug missing. So i dont think it will work but it should work with a microtech i guess.
The 4agze aw11 uses a dizzy to distributer i thought.

err, dizzy is short for distributer dude.
But, the aftermarket system just replaces the ECU.
Everything else is utilised.
Unless you do some custom work and convert to coilpack arangement.
But you will still need a crank/cam angle sensor of some description.
FYI, the MTX8 was superseeded by the LTX8 about 4-5 years ago, and the LT8S/LTX8S replaced the LTX8 about 18months ago.
The Microtech is a good system for the price you pay, and works well on the A series motor.
Not worth it for you unless you intend to go far from stock on the motor.

please excuse my ignorance engine management is a grey area for me.
I plan to run an aftermarket management anyways.
Ok looks like im getting confused between the coil and the distributer.
The coil is rooted from the gze but the coil from the 4age is fine but has different pins.
Hrrm doesent sound that good after all.

the new microtecjh now is lt10
no more lt8s or ltx8s
if u want to spend abit of money
get the microtech set up for 4agze coils
fit a gze cranbk senosr instead of dizzy
or just run the dizzy and remove dizzy cap and make a cover for it
then run the twin coil setup
