Went Rim Shopping Today...

today i went looking for some rims for my TA22...one place i got told you cant get some for them unless u pay for simmons or get some custom built...
i went to tempe and ask there and they showed me 2 sets that will fit on my car due to the offset..i was dissapointed that i see TA's with nice rims but tempe who have a huge selection could only show me 2...
this isnt a baggin of tempe tyres or anything its not there fault is it?...
whaT do u guys think? the main reason i went to tempe is because i have a larger profile on my back tyres which rubs the gaurds and i dont have money to buy rims or tyres outright and the finance deals tempe can arrange will help me out..
the bloke said the offset needed is odd and not many rims r made in that offset as its an old car....
if i walk into a tyre place wat info do i need to know about my car and its rims specs? offset? width? etc etc

yep - you'll need to know your offset.
and old celicas are absolutely shithouse for good sized rims.
I need to go custom 3-piece if I want to find good sized tyres. just sign over your newborn to simmons and all will be good.

width is whatever you want it to be.. depends on your power and what you want to use it for - but you cant go narrower than stock (and wouldn't be able to find rims like that anyhow)
the wider you go with your rims, the closer to an exact offset your wheels need to be. if you're +28 and going for 17x7 rims, +20-+30 should be fine... tempe have always been fairly unhelpful to me, because I dont want a +40 offset, and I dont want chrome, and I do care about weight of rims... maybe try a place like neale's wheels, they're a bit more knowledgeable in non-rice areas

That was Exactly what Happened to me I went to go took at some rims for my sprinter, First Bob jane told me they Only have one set that would fit which look pretty crap, then I went to factory direct wheels in thomastown (Melb) they had a shit load of rims on show and showed me three sets which would fit and that I would probably have to get a set made up if I really wanted a good set.

what about keeping your eyes on ebay/forums for a set second hand ? or perhaps chasing around the wreckers. you wont exactly have the range of choice but it could end up saving you a bucket of cash over new custom simmons.

Toymods link works fine. (for me anyway)
But do a search for 'Choose Cruz's Mags' or similar.
I photoshopped 7 designs that fit the 17x7, 4x114.3 in 20 to 15 offset
