will a 18R-G fit into a XT130? (with shitfire mounts)
considering that the block for the 18R-C and the 18R-G are the same (quote mechanic friend) and that the 18R-C came as an option for the XT130 series, i can only assume that the RG will fit no probs, am i right in thining this??
also... can someone please post PROPER hp estimates for the 18R-G engine and the 18R-C, so far i've only found out they came with 145hp (which persoanlly i think is a load of shite)...
thanks in advance...

You'll probably have to use an RT13x crossmember and/or engine mounts to make it fit.
Power output varies depending which version of the 18R-G you have (there were several). The first one was the most powerful with approximately 140hp, but these are relatively rare due to their age (early 70's). Most of them are 18R-GU's and 18R-GEU's which are around 125-130hp.

I am also looking to do this conversion. The shitty Holden missfire just doesn't cut it! Is it just the crossmember you have got to change? If anyone has ANY helpful info please let me know.
Thanx All

Jofus, your best bet would be to get in touch with your local authorities and see what they are going to make you do.
I wouldn't expect that you'd have too many problems as from memory the 1X (if that is what you've got) is a 1.9 litre, so they would most likely allow you to put in your car without too much hassle.
The only issue that I can see is the power output, if there is too much of a percentage increase, they usually like special things to be done, such as engineer cert. and possible brake upgrades, although I can't see the 18rg being much heavier than the 1X so I doubt they would make you do that.
If a "shitty holden misfire" annoys you, then I reckon the shitty 18rg misfire would too. Our 18rg falls out of tune every time it is driven, at least it did with the 18rgu carbies, the older style ones have been quite good after we drilled out the idle screw so that we could get it to flow enough fuel to make it idle properly.

The 18rg will fit straight in as i have a 18rc onverted in my corona at the moment. The only thing different is if you had a startfire in it before you will have to change radiators( adapt a celica one) and possibly a sump as it depends on what the 18rg was in before
