Vaccum/boost hoses on 2tgeu/3tgte intake Wed, 26 January 2005 04:03 Go to next message
Hi Folks.
Just getting towards the finishing touches and have a couple of quick questions about what hose go where.

First im running the catch can off the side of the 3tgte block on the intake side.

Im am not running any of the idle up mechanisms as i have a link computer to do that.

So...On the 2tgeu plenum chamberI have the big pipe barb fitting below the cold start injector, the big pipe connector before the throttle body, and the outlet of the catch can thing.

The question is how do i join it all together?
ie
1/what to connector before the throttle body.
2/ can i connect the catch can directly to the big outlet on the plenum chamber below cold start injector
3/ what is the point of the valve looking thing in the factory line between the catch can and the plenum on the standard 3t, apart from acting as a size reducer?

Well hope thats enough information for someone to help me out.
Cheers
Logan

The factory breather can has a check valve so that it only vacuums the crank case (IF you are on boost the very last thing that you need is to have that in your crank case). This should be hooked to the plenum (to evacuate the crank case at vacuum). Yes the factory catch can can go where idle control motor was.

You may tee off that line to do the booster (the brake booster should also have a check valve - pressure in your brake booster is even worse than in your sump).

IF you are running an aftermarket catch can then hook that to the breather on that rocker cover (otherwise it should be connected to the line prior to the turbo ie non pressure side).

I trust that this helps.
