i had a set of goodyear eagle f1 195 50 r15 on my sprinter, they were put on a little less than a year ago i think, the rears have just been changed and fronts havent got much left. they seemed to wear fairly quickly as i dont do heaps of k's and the car only has a 4ac in it, not a bad tire but, fairly good in the wet.
i dident think they were that expensive, i got them for $100 a tire fitted + balanced.

my tyre of choice would be the Nankang NS-II 195/50 R15 they have an excellent dry and wet grip, and also have a squarish edge on the sidewall, and the sidewalls are very stiff too! i frequintly come across brand new free bees (mates), but one of the guys down at Ozzy tyres would sell them for about $90ish fitted/balanced..
i have tried the 901's on the front, and noticed that they walk a bit, and have bed steering response compared to the NS-II's
if your really keen, get some latest model Toyo Proxies everyone has nothing but the utmost respect for these..(there expensive though!)

I use 195 50 14 Yokohama A539 on mine and it grips like jizzum to the back seat of a car espechially, hoping to trial the new C-Drives soon, A539's will set you back around the $130 each

ive had the goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D2 for yonks and loved them. on both the celica and the mr2.
tried a set of Yokohama a539's on the mr2 and was sorley dissapointed. still have them sitting half worn in the shed.
im keen to try the gs-d3 gut at almost 100 bucks a corner more its hard to justify. my tyre guy says he hasnt sold enough to get some good feedback on but i think ill go them next time around.
but definantly the GS-D2 is a fantastic tyre. i think it has been discontinued recently though. so you may have trouble getting it.

yeah i've actually tried goodyear gs-d2's on my impreza and i wasnt that impressed actually. the michelin primacy's i had on previously seemed far better than them. they seem to last a bit longer though from what ive seen. anyone tried michelin preceda? yeah and i do realise the tyres im looking at are kinda in the top end of the market.
drift86levin: how much do those proxies go for?

toyo trampios.. lol, I wouldnt call them the best handling tyre in the world, but they last and last!
I have them on the back of my car and they have taken such a beating and their still going!
On the front I have yokie A539s. I found them to be the cheapest tyres in my size (185/55/14) and I know that they work well, so I stuck with them.
Just dont expect alot of milage out of them.
