Speed sensor 3tgte

Hi, i have a 3tgte with a w55 gearbox and want to connect my turbo-timer. The only thing is, i'm not sure if the computer or gearbox has a speed sensor to connect my turbo timer to. Does anyone know where i can connect the turbo timer? I have it set up at the moment, but can only set the turbo timer manually, I'm assuming that i need to connect the speed sensor wire from the turbo timer somewhere, just dont know where, or if it can actually be done.
Any help would be great
Thanks

The W55 behind my 3tgte had a mechanical speedo cable. Assuming yours is the same (unless you have a digital dash or something?) you wont be able to connect the speed sensor feature of the turbo timer.

Damn it!! i was hopeing that wouldn't be the answer. Ah well. Is there anything i can get so that i can use the speed sensor of the turbo timer, apart from buying a new computer?

Its not the computer thats the problem. Its the sender in the gearbox. Its just a cable.
You could get a electronic sender probably. But then you will need a new speedo as well.. Maybe look at the VDO electronic speedos thats what I plan to put in mine.
I'm sure some of the W series boxes would have had electronic speedo senders that you could fit to your W55.
Cheers

But on another note.. Just use the turbo timer manual function I'm sure it has a couple of pre-set values?

I believe that the electronic sender from the 6 spd Altezza fits - that'll only set you back about $500 or so.

Thanks heaps for the info bro. Any idea on how much the electronic speedo senders would cost? If i did get a new computer for the car though, obviously depending on which computer i get, would they have a feature that would be able to determine the speed and there-fore be able to connect up the turbo timer?
I have the turbo timer pre-set to 3mins, leave it longer if i've been hammering it a bit
Thanks again

Thanks again. Seeing the price, i think that i'll just continue to set the turbo timer manually

No computer that I know of will determine the speed.. That has to come from the gearbox sender.

$110 - now that's worth noting!
Incidentally 3 mins is a fair cool down time - more than necessary if you are driving normally (whatever that means)
