Cheap way to transport car interstate Thu, 27 January 2005 04:43 Go to next message
Hey guys,
before I start looking into this heavyily I'm just wondering if anybody has transported a car (namely a celica) from NSW to QLD, for arguments sake Sydney to brisbane.
Roughly what should I be paying for that and any places you'd recommend ?

I just had a car brought from Canberra to Brisbane via TNT and it was $750.

That was picked up at their depot in Canberra, but delivered to my door in Brisbane.

Sydney would be cheaper, but similar. It's around this price because you are competing for new car loads going north...moving a car from Brisbane to Canberra only cost me $300!!!

Just ring TNT Vehicle Logistics and they'll give you a quote.

well i recently bought my MA61 from the gold coast..
Drove it back to Brisbane where i was staying then left 3 days later on my drive from brisbane to sydney.
The 5ME used 2 full tanks of premium the entire journey so that was about $100 or roughly, plus the guy i went down with was a soft cock and wanted to stop so it took us 2 days. Next time i do it... if i do it, i would do it in one.. its about a 12-13 hour drive. Just follow the signs!
some down sides was we got stuck in a 4 hour traffic jam on the highway in 40 degree heat with no air con cause of bush fires! and we got lost in sydney cause everyone drives like a fucking maniac. But we stayed at a nice place in port Macquire.I recommend driving at least once, u will save your self about $400 doing it yerself and for 2 days work for something u really love it is worth..
Or is the car unroadworthy... in that case get it sent up!
BTW
there was sum fuckwitted truck drivers. do try not to get stuck near them... they do make good wind breaks tho! so u save on fuel!

ive been quoted all around the $500 for Brisbane to newcastle. that was from brisbane docks which are apparently a pain in the arse to deal with.

best quote was coast vehicle transport

Excellent, thanks guys, unfortunately this car is a shell but by the looks of the costs I think it won't be viable to ship it up just yet, plus another buyer is about to snap it up so I think I'll miss out anyway. Mad

Also FYI, tried that coast place and they don't do car shells just driveable cars.
