I had a dream last night, And it hit me like a club......
Ok, enough nostialgic music, here's what I dreamt.
My uncle has two old wolselys (sp.) in our back paddock. And one of them is still fully painted, just needs a cut and polish. They are nice looking cars. So here's what I thought.
After being inspired by a bit of tom foolery motor vehicling, I thought I might pull the engine out of one of them and go full dragster style.
A 1uz-fe twin turbo, mechanical dizzy (no electronic management) some form of auto, straight LPG with two gas research carbi's, mini tubs and a nine inch diff.
Be a bit of a stretch, but I could do it. It's be fun too. Pure drag car.... ohhh..
Anyone think I'm an idiot?

1UZFE has two dizzies, neither of them are removable. Just make it easy on yourself and run it on EFI.

have you considered how heavy the woosley is?
or are you going to overcome its british designed (e.g. crap) aerodynamics and corpulent weight with excessive amounts of boost?
... i think this is idiocy - but then i put a turbo on an 18R so i'm not really one to comment on idiocy

no, didn't consider the weight, but it sounds like a good reason not to do it.

Personally I think the choice of car is apalling! But if you do start doing this, let me know, I'd love to come round and have a look while you're working on it Always good to see a slightly 'different' project. And if you want to turbo it with LPG, I'm in for a look at that, too

Have you seen the 572" crate motors? 720hp and 685ft/lbs hmmm. I bet the Woolly wouldn't feel too heavy with that kind of grunt.
But should this not be in general car talk?

This is funny, i never seen so many toymodders get fired up over the wolselys, but why mini tub it, why not go for a 3/4 chassis and full tubbage on the back You are going to need it with the 572 crate motor.
Cheers Adam
