2TGEU o2 sensor...important? Fri, 28 January 2005 12:48 Go to next message
i got a 2TGEU in my TE71 Levin GT and i recently got some extractors the fit the ta22 celicas... im pretty sure they fit.

its just that theres some sensor stuck into my exhaust just bfore the catalytic converter. ive been told and presume its an o2 sensor. im just wondering what my best option would be....

1 - piss the o2 sensor off and try and run w/o it
2 - keep my current stock exhaust up to the Catalytic converter (leaving the o2 sensor)then just do the back of the exhaust.
3 - have someone make a flange for the sensor and stab it in the Extractors.

if anyone can help me im desperate cos i got the money to do it but im not sure which option. and money doesnt just sit around long in my hands hands so PLZ!!!

you'll need your o2 sensor, it tells the computer how lean/rich you're running and therefore how much fuel to inject. get a port drilled into your extractors to suit, or put carbies on it Razz

you don't necessarily need a flange, you can have a nut welded in and buy a conventional screw-in type sensor, but yes you need the 02 sensor (it is used at part throttle/cruise) as stated above to make small fuel adjustments (closed loop).
