OK, I'm not an expert on this monitor however i am looking for the parts at the moment. The OK (or ESP) computer basically monitors several areas of the car an alerts you if somthing is out of place. (I would assume that if the light is on that there is somthing wrong) The OK computer can monitor (depending on car) things like radiator fluid levels - brake fluid levels - brake pad wear - oil pressure - washer water level - Condition of CAT and things like that. Speaking to people that have them it seems that they never work and that is possibly due to somthing aftermarket being put in ( like an exhaust system) that doesn't work with the monitor thus it is always on.

Not much help but this is the information I can offer.

I have an ok monitor in my TA22 GT. It has 6 warning lights for things similar to above.
I've never seen an ok monitor light on the dash, maybe the ok monitor itself was removed from your car and hence your warning light is on.
You could just take the globe out and forget about it,...

Simon,

The RA28 onwards have a single light in the dash just below the stereo as opposed to the roof mount setup that RA25 TA22/27 came with (not 100% about RA23's)
There also appears to be a rotary knob in some schematic I have that ( I would say ) select the area the you want to monitor.
Give me a few months to collect the parts and I'll tell you but otherwise get hold of someone in the US where the RA29 GT's have them.

had one on my old 78model corona import.

it not only had a light, had a dot matrix type display, which said wat the problem was

it could check all lights around the car, battery fluid, brakes, and radiator fluid.

for some reason the battery one was always the biggest problem, even though there was always fluid in the battery.

oh, check if your battery has a wire going itno it via one of those holes in it. if not, look around for a wire, that's the wire that tells it how much fluid it has in it.

or just short it out.
