read ones going to 1.9.just thinking if i every win lotto .thought about building a 2litre 7ag . maybe with a 20v head in n/a form. nothing to extreme that it would blow up 2 months done the track . its good to dream.i'm guessing maybe 10 grand after buying the block and head stuff. but we'll see what experts have to say . because im not one if i was i wouldn't be asking

i dont know if you could actually get the 7a out to 2L - that would be a LOT of stroking, as the 7A block has no room left to bore it out any real amount.
I'll just put the notion forward that i dont think it will happen.

I know it's one of those "i'll do it because I can" things, but wouldn't you be better off starting with a 3s-g(t)e?

7K has same rods as 7A? hmmmmm.... thats very interesting!!!
wonder how much longer they are than 4K rods, along the lines of using them with a lower pin height piston in a 4K..

yar, recognised your nick
hmmmm, i know i should look this up, but whats the length of a 7K rod?
hmm, 7KE is 80.5mm bore (same as 5K) and 87.5mm stroke, which is 11.5mm more than 4K/5K stroke...
maybe it's same length as a 4K rod?? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
oh, want me to drop around sometime with my injected KE15? runs nicely now.. just need to sort out programmable ignition

heh heh, well.. lack of a 7K block.. not wanting to have to get engineered for a K series motor and basically, because i'm just playing with the 4K until i go OS..
i have a Megasquirt running the fuel atm, and i have a few spark options, including the new MS2 processor
all i need is either a VR "zero crossing detector", or a toyota VAST ignitor, to go with my new 4KE elec dizzy...
after that it should be easy
or i could put an EDIS4 on and have waste spark...
but we have digressed off topic somewhat
hmm, tomorrow i'm sorting out 4 cars i have to be removed

fool, the point was that 7K and 7A rods are the same. 7K is 1.8L, 7A is 1.8L.
3S is significantly heavier (is it 50kg?)
if this is just a dream, move it to general car talk heh heh

ive heard it mentioned on a u.s forum that there is a particular BMW rod that will work.
as far as going to 2l with a 7a, i have no idea... but whats the point? stroking an engine too far reduces the rod ratio, which cost you power, you might find 1800ccs and a few more revs will make more power than going for a big stretch.
i would say go as far as you can with the standard crank, maybe even ofset grind it a little to suit a differant OE conrod.
anyway, much more knowlegeable people have commented in this thread, just thought i'd mention the bmw rods..
