Well after piss farting around for way too long thinking of doing a rebuild on my trusty old EH holden, I have decided to have a shot at an old Toyota Crown.
Basically I am going to take the same route with this as I was going to with the EH.
So....
Custom bodywork...
Paint...
Big Big wheels...
V8 Engine (Lexus)...
Custom Interior....
and maby airbag suspension.... if I have the time.
I am looking towards something like this (different paint and bigger wheels)

Hehe...you'll have to find a 1967 MS45 Crown Deluxe first (the only model that had that grille). They only had a 9 month release period. The 1966 MS41 Deluxes had a different (and IMHO less impressive) grille. The standard models have a really cacky pressed aluminium grille. Good luck!
There was a really rare 1966 MS41S Crown S for sale in Qld for $2800 earlier this year but given that only 500 were made and only 21 were imported to Australia, most people would kill you if you put a V8 in one.
As for stuffing a Lexus V8 in one, be prepared for a lot of work. Why do I say this? Because I have done it.
I would also suggest the Classicrown website.

Hey thanks for the link.
That pic isnt the exact model I will be using... Most likley a later model. (I am looking at a few examples at the moment)
As far as the grill goes, I will be making a custom billet piece. Similar to the one in the pic but a little more modern and "custom" if that makes sence lol.
And the V8... yeah I was figuring on a fair bit of work getting it in there and working.

The pic is of a 40 series (1960 thru to Sept 1967).
The 1UZ apparently doesn't fit (easily) in the 50 series - a few lads here have tried and apparently some part of the engine hits the upper control arm.
Chat to "toyman75", "crownman" (both from here) or Struan (from Classicrown) - they tried it and can fill you in on the specifics.
I couldn't comment specifically on the 60/70 series but given that the engine bay is almost identical to the 50 series, I'm tipping you'll run into the same strife.
There's a fella in Northern Qld (Shane - "Crown V8" on Classicrown) who is most of the way thru fitting a 1UZ to an 80 series wagon. Shane said it fits with the standard steering box. The earlier model unfortunately will all require a rack and pinion conversion (extra work and money).
