hey was just on the ALSC forums, and in the middle of a discution about ecu's vs unichip, S-AFC was brought up as an affordable and reliable substitute, now all i need to know is WTF is it????

It is Apex'i's Super Air Flow Controller.
Basically alows you to program fuel maps etc.

It adjust your air/fuel ratio, you can increase fuel loads at different rpm increments, or decrease which ever, make it richer or leaner, its a piggy back computer obviously, as for reliable and affordable, i got mine for about 650 (SAFC II), mines having some problems, but could be the ECU that's malfunctioning.

i have a (JDM) 3sge 1st gen in there, the problem is that the well not sure if its the whole ECU or just SAFC that cuts off and on sometimes, when you drive it sometimes it will flick off then back on for a slip second as if you were starting up the car again in motion.

hmm...could be a simple earth problem huh, any other alternatives? at the moment my car is in a vegetative state with no engine, i'll have to take that in to consideration(earth properly).

Mine was fucking up cuz the RPM wire wasn't connected to the correct wire (don't always trust the manual!). If in doubt, go to a 'tune shop' and get some expert help. I did.

Yeah i did, and tuned as well, and at the end of the day i ended up with a cracked piston, Laughing , but i suspect maybe the bottem end bearings had come off and the whole thing went down hill from there
