EOI: 14 x 6 Performance Superlite Rims - black inset, polished rim

Well I managed to source myself a set of relatively brand new superlites - was told they were made specifically for an MX5 therefore they should fit most FWD vehicles with 4 stud 100 PCD ...
Can't really say much other than they're 100 PCD - offset-wise I am not really sure however most MX5's take the same rims as a FWD AE82 / AE92 Corolla. They have a 1 inch dish for that JDM wantanabe look.
Each alloy I've weighed is less than 6 kg's on the bathroom scale.
I don't think they've ever been fitted because I can't find marks of any balancing weights on the insides.
Probably asking $800 ONO - was told that these cost about $250 a rim brand new.
If you're in Brisbane, you're more than welcome to come look see and try them on after normal working hours on most weeknites. Otherwise, can organise freight interstate - probably looking at around $100 along the East Coastline.
Any questions, just PM me ... if they don't sell, I'll probably fit them myself in about a month's time but will mean that I will have to get lower springs to get rid of the 4x4 look.
Cheers all!

Hmmm ... as far as I'm aware, Performance Superlites are made to order so they'd come in custom offsets.
MX5 alloys use 100 PCD and are generally FWD offset like +38 to +45 (stock 5.5" wide).
I'll go back and measure the inside of the alloy so that it may give you an idea as to offset.
They seem to come right up to the lip - obviously it they were RWD I'm sure they would extend past the lip.

FYI All Performance Rims are marked with their offset and size.
It will be stamped on the inside.
38P 32P 44P etc

|
No, thats not the only offsets available in 14x6's, thats just possibilities of what you might find when you look.

They are made-to-order, but in limitted offsets. I know they do 4mm and 12mm - so perhaps in multiples of 8mm above 4?
And new 16x7s cost $280 each.

Okay ... now I'm really confused - I have looked at the alloy wheel all over and inspected all 4 now. They have been used before but are in near new condition - no gutter rashes or anything.
There are some numbers / codes stamped on the back but they are inconsistent amongst all wheels so I think it doesn't mean anything. The only other thing then is in the following pic which has been stamped "12P" on the front, probably suggesting it may be a RWD alloy suitable for old Mazda's ...

That said, I did a quick visual comparison between my 14x6 Datto 240Z rims and there still appears to be a gap of 1 cm between the two alloys, the datto ones sitting further in giving more offset.

Ultimately, I may just bring one to a tyre place over the weekend and just get an accurate measurement.
As mentioned above, anyone in Brisbane is free to drop by to try on ... otherwise they'll go onto the MX5 in a fortnight's time so no big loss. Perhaps all I can conclude is that MX5's have a weird offset for a RWD car

CrUZsida wrote on Fri, 04 February 2005 01:04 | Judging by those pics of the MX5, they stick WAY to far out.
Add a tyre bulge to it, and you would be a good 1/2 inch past the guards.
I'd say the MX5 has a FWD offset.
EDIT: Ignore my AE86 comment, I forgot about the 4x100.
|
Yeah ... I'm thinking more Mazda RX7's ...
Still, it seems to be okay for the MX5 because the datto 240Z rims came out as far on my AE86. Plus the car's not slammed so it won't foul with the guards.
Hmmm ... early RWD corolla's had a weird PCD of 110 (KE10's & KE20's) and everything else used 114.3 - guess that only leaves the odd old school Mazda's.
