starting my car cold gets annoying
the car will NEVER start first try, but ALWAYS start second try. the problem goes away if the engine has some heat in it.
could this be something electrical? battery... distributor... leads??

sounds like u need to pump the accelerator a couple of times. EFI, or carby??? What car/motor???
My old corona did that, but pumped the gas 3 times b4 starting and it started 1st go
Just my opinion, there could be other answers out there.
Thanks
Ben

This sometimes happens in EFI cars when the fuel pressure regulator isn't sealing properly. When you switch off the engine, the FPR should close off completely and maintain the fuel pressure in the lines so it will start easily the next time you crank it. If it's not functioning correctly, the pressure slowly bleeds off overnight so you've got nothing the next day. It can take a few seconds for the fuel pump to get the pressure back up again.
There are several possibilities here, but that's one of them.
