The enemy of drivers everywhere...
Hey people,
Bout a month ago I was driving through the Blue mountains on the way down to canberra, along some road near some race track... anyway, its 80 along there, one of mates said it used to be 100, I was driving a (ugh) mazda 121, I had to wind it up to get it over the next hill, unfortunatly there was a highway patrol car over the hill too... 107 in 80, plus no P plates, PLUS fucking double demerits = 8 points ( in case you dont know, P platers have 4 points...) ANYWAY I just need some advice on ways to keep my licence? I cant keep working if I loose it as my licence is essential where I work, and I I cant keep working i cant stay at Uni. I would consider court but I cant afford a lawyer, can you represent yourself?
Any help or suggestions would be good...
p.s please no post about how stupid it was in the first place, I think i already worked that one out for myself

I lost 9 points on my p's, went to court, represented myself, the judge dude asked me why I should be able to keep my license, I showed him a letter from both of my employers and pointed out that there was no public transport available from my house to my work places, then he told me I was on 1 point till I go onto my opens. Just happened to be 3 weeks till I was due to get my opens hehe.
Also if you havent had any previous fines/offences then it will work in your favour.

Thanks guys,
Looks like I'll be going to court...if only I could hire Linel Hutz, Attorney of Law, but im just gunna represent myself. Good idea with the letters from employers. One solice is the fact i proble wrecked the mazda, when the coppas pulled me over, the was smoke comming from the engine ( probly cos i was doing 110 as the helpful copper nicely (cough cough) pointed out).
The next day the car overheated majourly, we had to put it in nuetral to coast down hill to bring the temp down, then charge up the next hill, all the way back from canberra!
hooray! no more mazda!

If you don't want to pay for a lawyer, try something like legal aid... I had a few legal problems a while back and they helped me out the whole way through. if you can prove to them that you have no means of paying for a lawyer then they can help you out... not too sure of how to contact them in NSW cos i'm a melbourne boy, but yeah, you can't go wrong really

a magistrate will most liekly take pity on you if you provide evidence from your employer that you need a probationary licence, and for 15-30 offenbce, the prosecution most likely would not oppose a probationary lcense.

Careful of the answers from interstate.
In Qld, if you can show a letter from your employer that you need a licence, you will automatically get a probationary licence for 12 months (unless the offence is for something really horrific) which has no points attached. ie you get booked, you lose it.
That is not the case in NSW.
I'd be giving it a go anyway.

hey dood i was on my reds and got done in double demrits for a 4 point offence it was in april last year and i stalled it till december the 4th and went to court where i represented myself and since was my 1st time in court i got a section 12 and case dismissed, i was stalling till i got my greens and then i checked yesterday and they took 4 points of my licesne but only of my greens so was happy also i got outta the fine i dont think that will help u as its an 8 point offence and u only got 7 on ya Greens but yeh, this is in NSW as well but also shows how long u can stall it through ignoring then goin to court then asking 4 an adjournment and for people that think that they backdate to ya reds well they dont they just take it of wat u have at the moment as the offence is only proven once u go to court and get a verdict or once u pay a fine
:> thats my essay
goodluck dood i been in same situation
