Unless you've upgraded your turbos, don't bother.

I guess it depends on which pipes? If you are thinking about making some twin dump pipes instead of the abomination that Toyota blessed them with then there is no bad time to do it.

I thought he was talking about inlet side... but if we're talking exhaust (dump pipe) then yes, it's definitely beneficial. Twin dump pipes are available commercially these days - do a search and you'll find all the info you need.

If you have the ability to do much of the work yourself, then replace the lot. Otherwise, I suppose it could end up kind of pricey, and you may/may not get a worthwhile gain from it.

Visit the Planet Soarer website. There are a numbner of Aussies making 1JZ-GTe twin dump pipes, and at reasonable cost.

regards Chuck.

Given the restrictions in the 'bendy bits' around the tuebo (where intake splits to 2 and then re-joins to one), I would be surprised if simply puting hard pipes from turbo-IC-TB would make a significant difference. Though you might want to do it as a prelude to a turbo upgrade.

I think this would make more sense if I used pictures. Rolling Eyes
