who understands cams.

It is hard to get good info on what works and what dont.

I have some nitrided 3tgteu cams i would like to put in the 2tg't'eu, the car runs fine now, but i would like to know if it would be a worthwhile exercise to put the 3tg cams is.

Are there any performance gains/losses expected?
How will it affect the torque curve etc.

2tg cams have a longer duration than 3tgte cams
so i certainly wouldnt want to put 3tgte cams in a 2tg unless you want to reduce power, revability

I am running the stock 3T GTE cams at the moment - I have not yet measured the duration and timing differences to see how they compare. I say suck it and see and then tell us the results (ideally you would do back to back power runs and overlay the graphs to see where gains/losses are made).

Jesse - what is the exact duration of the 3T GTE cams and the 2T G cams? I am pretty sure that the 2T G has had about 3 x different factory cam grinds during it's evolution.

Thank you for that greenta22 Smile

I only need to chase down the 280 (3T GTE) specs.

BTW - the 46.4 = about 9.4mm lift if I remember rightly.

The longer duration (of the 262) is more likely for the 9.0:1 and 240 for the 8.4 (just a thought).

Bugger the head i got is the only one this isn't on that list or the link, i have the 261 cams.

I will put these in one day, i am not sure how good the comparison will be because i got these 3tgteu cams nitrided and cryo'd, so there will be a difference straight up.
