Hi,
I'm selling the beloved green machine. It's actually my uncles, but i've been driving it for about 2 months in the hiatus between selling my rx7 and buying something else. It's a great car, really nice to drive, and very original, ppl love it, and girls think it's really cute. It's actually a behemoth of a car. Anyways here's the good points and bad.
Good points :
This is a very original XB in better condition than almost all on the road except for those that have been restored. It's done a genuine 177000 kms, has been serviced by the same mechanic in Werribee, who's now retired and works out of home, since the car came out of the showroom. My uncle bought it from the original owner, who he is friends with. You can see the original Heaths Werribee sticker on the back, the original no. plates in the picture, and it has the full service history lying around somewhere to prove it. 12 slotters (I put those on ) with new tyres (retreads though), really really fat rear tyres for the look. Motor runs great, needs to be warmed up in the morning before you drive but after that it runs really smooth with a fair bit of power. Has the electric plug at the back for trailers and you can tow anything with it. It needed new brake pads when my uncle gave it to me so i just replaced the kalipers with XF v8 kalipers with full pads instead , which are bigger than the standard kalipers and it brakes alot better now. I did a basic service on it about a month ago too, put carbie cleaner through it, sparks, oil and filter, fuel filter. The transmission is very smooth, and is even really smooth through the individual gears. The car is basically in original condition. It's the bench seat model, seats 6 ppl, but you could seriously fit 20 in there.
Bad things :
Driver side of bench seat has tears, but otherwise the seats are in great condition.
The Dash is a faded at the top, but not cracked.
There is a couple of scratches on the body, and one scrape on the left rear quarter panel and door.
Reg runs out end of this month!
No power steering
Also has one very small rust patch where the paint has bubbled underneath one of the doors, it is very small though, smaller than the palm of ur hand.
But like i said, in comparison to other XB's on the road, it's in excellent condition, when i bought the 12 slotters from one wrecker and the brakes from another, everyone there said the car is one of the straightest XB's they've seen and in great condition for it's age.
I'm currently in the process of hunting down a couple of bits i need for RWC, it needs a new plastic bit on the accelerator pedal, and 2 seat belt stalks (the middle one in the bench seat, and one in the rear) the bench seat stalk is kinda hard to find so far. I plan on selling it with a RWC for around 1800 ONO.
I have pics taken just then, havn't uploaded them anywhere yet so if anyone wants pics please pm me ur email addy, and i'm in the western suburbs, Williamstown area if anyone wants an inspection/test drive.
Thanks, Dan.

Here's a few pics, i'll put more of the scrape up and the interior later.
Click on the photos to see them properly
It's a great daily driver, i really need to sell it before feb 17th, i don't want to sell it unregistered, even though i'll get a RWC for it. So i'll consider any offers, i'm going to advertise in this weeks trading post and other forums now.
Thanks, Dan.

For how old it is i can't believe how comfy they are, there's truth to the saying that 'they don't make em like they used to'. I was going to put all my money into it, was hard to resist, already spent 500 on the rims with tyres, 130 or so on the service. I was going to get it rebuilt with 351 internals put in and put a mssive carby etc on it, get a high stall kit for the trans, but i love jap cars too much, ended up buying a gz soarer .
It has heaps of potential. It needs another photo of it from the front, i'll have to take one later tonight.

Bump. Couple more photos. The front pic is from my phone, taken today after the car had a clean from mother nature, kinda crappy quality pic though. The interior you can see the tears in the driver side of the bench seat. Also, could anyone suggest a more appropriate forum to advertise on?? I don't really know any ford forums.
Thanks, Dan.

Ok everyone i really really need to sell the car by the 17th, and i've had no serious offers. I missed the trading post on wednesday as i rang too late, so this is the only venue i'm advertising on. I'll consider all offers now, and i'll sell for less without a RWC. I'm not going to bother tracking down seat belts if i sell it for around 1000 though. You could strip it and sell the panels/motor/interior bits/driveline for more than that. So if i don't get any offers i'm just going to take it to a wreckers.

That's really nice, if someone was willing to restore this, get it resprayed same colour green but put black racing stripes, get those double headlights, bonnet scoops, it'd be awesome. Well there's heaps of options really, piss easy to drop a 351 in there too and get the auto built. If you're mechanically handy you can easily just buy a 351 cheap, and put it in urself, it drops straight in, same block just different internals.
