gday guys, first post, long time reader here.
i was hoping youse would be able to help me with a few problems i have?
my fathers 85 hilux has finally stuffed its shifter after 450,000km. the locating pins are bent, the shifter ball is flogged out, but most importantly, the plastic shifter cup? upper bush anyways was completely non existant.
i was told toyota dont sell em anymore although ill check next week.i doubt repco n co. would sell them, so i was just wondering if anyone had a source for the cup and pins? if not ill have to get an engineer to build be one while the shifter is getting welded up.
also, does anyone know what the stock comp height for 18R/RG pistons would be?
thanx, cameron.

i think 18rc pistons are like 8.0-1 but the 18rg pistons can range from 8.2-1 to 9.7-1

18r is 8.5:1 and flat top
18rg pistons wont work on an 18r motor because of combustion chamber design.
dunno about the shifter though if it is a w55,6,7,8 there is some information on the top thread in tech and conversions (frequently asked questions sticky) about replacing shifter bushes and the partnumbers associated with them.
hope this helps
Daniel
