Frank did a lot of work on them, i know he had trouble but i dont think he fully rebuilt them. dad's taken them comptletly apart and put them back again, so i'd say thats rebuilding them, but we didnt get replacement gaskets n stuff. he had to make a couple of gaskets however...
Bloody Solex! the jet housing is detatchable, when really it doesnt need to be. there's like a figure 8 gasket which came sealing that, and franks obviously tried to replace it by two seperate O-rings, and they didnt fit properly and caused both jet housings to blow out. You can see the metal all frayed outwards, really nasty. dad made a gasket that fit and sealed it really well.
Now that the jet housing is sealed properly the carbies are running a bit too rich so i need new jets to suit.
When we took the car to Frank last year he said he was closing down for good at Christmas, so I didnt bother to try and get in touch with him.
Its one thing after the next with these carbies!
