Cleaning/restoring plastic Sun, 06 February 2005 05:14 Go to next message
Can anyone recommend the best stuff to use to clean up plastic, I know I can just use soapy water, but is there any special stuff out there that is meant to clean plastic up heaps well?
Is there any way that you can get scratches removed from plastic?

I wanna clean up my tail lights(Sprinter) and grille(clear Levin)

Thanks.

To get the scratches out of your plastic work use a heat gun or hot blow torch attachment on a gas soldering iron.
Works a treat!

Just don't go too hard or you'll melt the plastic... just quickly flick over the scratches with the heat gun.

The maguires equivalent of armourall works very well to clean up dirty dash bits... just spray a heap onto a towel and work at the plastic for a bit... all the dirt will come off with enough work.
