Good to see the progress! You've got a LOT more room either side than I do, I've got maybe an inch between the engine and the suspension.
Couple of questions about the 1UZ:
From the picture it looks like you don't have a couple of little ufo shaped things behind on the intake manifold opposite the throttle body. I've got 2 on there, thought they were pollution gear and want to know if I can take them off (make it simpler).
At the front of the intake manifold (which you have a lovely toyota insignia on!) theres a little pump of some kind with a black tube going left (without a hose plugged in in the pic).
Also looks like you've got another sensor next to the throttle position one. I should be getting more pics of mine soon. There are some on my site in my signature.
Wish I was at the wiring stage

Not sure about the first two questions...Will check.
As for the 2nd TPS, this would have been used initially for the TRC (Traction Control) system.
This (together with only a single serpentine belt for ancillaries) tells me that the engine probably came from a UZZ31 Soarer.
Obviously, I wont be using the extra TPS, rather it can stay there as a "cold" spare, in the event the first one wears out. (Given that the TRC wouldn't have been used particularly often, it's safe to assume this TPS should be in pretty good nick...)
Just for interest's sake, what does your engine have where my Toyota emblem is?
If it has V8 Four Cam 32 then I'd suggest that it's a Crown engine. In such a case, it will Have Toyota on the lead covers also? (You probably already know this!)

The emblem was scratched off, so I've no idea what it was. I think the engine was from a Lexus actually (front mount sump). But am not sure any more. I'm gonna get a sticker made up V8 Supra, big V8, then supra underneath. If I can get it in the supra style writing I'll be chuffed.
TCS makes sense then. I had 3 throttle cables, which I assumed was for the TCS but didn't see another TPS.

Just for interest's sake re: sump configs, you may like to have a look at the following pic, taken from under the front of the Cressida. This shows the sump and, in the background, you can just make out the X-member.
Is yours the same as this?

I'm pretty sure thats where my original sump was. The sump I've got in now sits at the back.
I thought the soarer had a rear mount sump as it had a crossmember at the front same as my car. I thought the sump I bought was a soarer sump. Really don't know any more.
... my cam belt tensioner is on the other side of the engine too! Wish I knew what I had.

Very Nice!
A V8 Grandpa Cruiser
Do you think this would be a comparable conversion (price, effort etc) to putting a 7m-GTE into my MX73?
Keep the pics coming

Sorry mate, (in best Pat Rafter voice), but I wouldn't know...
I imagine there'd be some debate, but I wonder if, for longevity's sake, you might be better off doing a 1JZ-GTE into your '73.
BTW. When my conversion is finished, and mags, suspension and brakes are fitted, I doubt that it'll be a "Grandpa Cruiser"...
