I am looking at buying a 5MGE, but the bloke tells me that there is a knocking noise coming from the cams from idle to around 2200rpm.. got any ideas ?

I know its lame, but checked your oil recently? Lack of lubrication will cause this

why r u buying it ?
It could be either too thin oil or lack of oil.
does it have an oil pressure gauge ?
