k50 box rear seal

Hey all
I have a k50 box in my old suzuki 4wd and it's spitting oil.... a fair bit of oil ..... from the rear of the box where the jackshaft goes in at high speed.
Rear seal buggered? How hard to fix? Complete overhaul? Attempt myself or call ghostbusters/ mechanic?
Thanks

sounds like the rear seal..
how much is another box over there ?..might be cheaper than doing the seal, specially if you cant do it yourself.

pry the old one out with a screwdriver then bash the new one in with a large socket. No need to take box out. just take tailshaft off

and seal is more like $10-15 at most... call and ask.. i think it is a 32x52x11 or similar... (one of my boxes had a 30x52x11 i think.. weird...) call and get a price from CBC or the like...
ppiss easy to change, but you will need to drop the box.. thats abotu an hours work

are we talkign T50 or K50 here?
anyway, yeah i guess you should be able to with the extension housing on, as long as you have a suitable puller (ie long parallel and properly spaced arms) to get down in there between the output splines and the seal...there'snot too much space there.. less than 5mm?

Seal: Large screwdriver or split pin puller. Alternately, drill a hole in the seal, hook something in and pull it that way.
Repco have seals, as would any decent parts supplier.

yeah it can be done with the tailshaft out and
oil drained...
make a tapping puller - thick wire, 1 end bent to
form a hook (slightly overbent) then a tapper to tap
it out, like a 1/4pound hammer head to slide on the
wire (the other end needs a stopper) or tie the hammer
onto the wire with thin rope. tap it moving around the
seal and it should come out after about 12 goes.
else a seal puller but some types seem to need the shaft
out first i think.
didnt take me long to make the tool, pull old
seal out and press the new one in with a little
wd40 and fingers, or just tap it in with a socket.

bumping this back up
I called around a bit to find the seal but everyone wanted a model no. to match the seal.... which I don't have because it's in a suzuki
Are all k50's the same in the rear seal? Because if they are I'll just quote any old corolla model no.

if the shifter is in the middle of the extension housing, say "KE30/KE55"
if the shifter is to the rear of the extension housings (and has heaps of ribbing on it) say "KE70"
oh, and measure the outer diameter of the end of the driveshaft, as that is what it seals to.
as i said before (i think) i had one with 30mm ID, and one with 32mm ID... so check the actual measurements.
