Brake pads

Hi all. I'm looking at changing my brake pads pretty soon but I'd like to go fo something a little different.
At the moment I'm using Bendix metal king plus (ra28 with two spot calipers and vented disks) but I don't like the way they work when cold (which is most of the time for my use), they tend not to bite much and then too much - locking up the wheel. I think they're a little hard on my rotor too. I'd like something that works better when cold, with less wear on the rotor (I don't mind replacing the pads more often), fade's not really an issue as they don't get too much hard use for long periods and the vented disks keep things from getting too hot.
Does anyone have any brands/types they would recommend I check out? Cheers, Chris.

EBC Green Stuff V4.... can't go past them... they are fantastic for uprated road use. i have a set in my hilux 4 piston calipers on my TA22 and they are awesome. they take a stop or two to warm up a bit, nothing like a race pad though. check out the EBC website for more info.

Yah... greenstuff
I used a set on my AE86 with ra60 calipers, worked pretty well. Gonna get some in the next couple of days for my mazda 4 spots, see how much that improves things.

metal king? you poor soul. dont let it put you off bendix though. we supply the police force with bendix ultimates, they need to be warmed up, but the proof is in the pudding.

I'll keep that in mind next time I've got the red+blue lights behind me, head straight for the mountains...
