My mates Pajero got broken into the other night. Doubt we will ever find it, it has been 3 days and no luck

yup, afraid so...
solution? weld inner seams with backing plates. I've even thought of the extreme of putting clear perspex around the lining so nothing can be jammed in there.
i think replacing the whole door is the only safe way to go

also from the back, is easy to get into.
throw the lock away and mig a plate to fill the hole 
the only way to get in without the key is to smash a window

friend of mine got back on sunday night after a weekend away only to find the back end of his car balancing on bricks and the front end nosed into the road- they took his new wheels!! they tried to take the whole thing but obviously didnt find the kill switch. the bastards. he only had his wheels a couple of weeks. ive had 2 breakins of my own and dammit!!!!!!! i feel your pain
