If you can find them use the original webber ram tubes.Only avalible s/h now but still the ones to use.
Failing that then some like in the pics and just make sure you use the long uni filters not the short ones as they suck down onto the tube and cause a restriction at high revs.
Anyway good luck and hope you find something to suit.

Yeah, filters increase the life of your engine somewhat . I have long Unifilter socks on mine x4.
It's a bit hard to show you my trumpets with them on tho...

Yeah the short filter socks are shit, ive wrecked 3 of them with a silvertop 20v. They get sucked so hard it splits the foam

There used to be a place in Deshon St (not sure of spelling) Wooloongabba called Lynx or something and they sold everything Weber and carb in general. Make sure you get something with a radius like in teh picture and be careful about how your chokes are held in. Can't remember which is which but either the 40's or 45's had the chokes held in by the ram tubes slotting in around them so if you can't get those type of trumpets you need something to hold the chokes in firmly.
Also you should use ram tubes even if you use full air filter assemblies like the K & N etc. This is to provide a smooth transition for the air entering the mouth of the carb. Air doesn't go around square corners very well.
Don't the short socks have springs in them to stop them sucking in or is it the end surface that gets sucked in.

It's the ends that get sucked down onto the tube which then restricts the airflow causing the mtr to over fuel badly.
Have seen it happen on several cars inc mine.We all use the long socks now.

A mate has a rally Escort which he had to fit mesh over the end of his trumpets to stop the short socks getting inhaled into the motor. There wasn't enough room for long trumpets...

Carb-tech in Redcliffe. Iain Stewart wrote the book on Webers. He's in the phone book. He'll tell you what you need, and will get it for you.

He's done both sets of my webers, and a pair of SU's. The guy has forgotten more about carbies than most of us will ever know...

Socks are to stop small animals from crawling inside your engine. The only acceptable use for these are on a race car when it is not racing.
You are much better off with a K&N type washable filter. On non-crossflow motors it is a good idea to use or fabricate an air box to keep the heat away; or create a heat shield between the inlet & exhaust manifold.
Ram pipes will smooth the air flow into the carb. This provides an element of acceleration to it with a venturi effect thus improving the cfm rating for a given carb spec'.
