ehhh if it's a black top it already has quad's Confused

what exactly do you mean by "stage 3 everything" it was my understanding that "stages" were nothing more than a naming convention for packages at some workshops.

Any particular reason it has to be a high rpm motor?

i think i was ripped then cos it doesnt have quads, i want like big ass cams, 40,000 oversized pistons, worked polished and ported head and stuff like that. I want big revs cos i want high horsepower as well.

the higher the revs you want to climb, the lighter your wallet will be. how much are you willing to spend? what's your budget?

NA performace is 2-3 times more expensive than turbo.
Keep that in mind.

Turbocharge it.

Smile

Check out bill sherwoods site:

specificaly, his how to modify a 4A-GE section:
http://www.billzilla.org/4agmods.htm

I think you'll find that unless you have a lot of money and love revs more than sex / don't mind going slow / need N/A for a racing class, a turbocharger is just a way better way to go.

budget for the engine is about 5k-7k

$1500 for ecu
$500 for tuning
$1000+ for cams
$1500ish for shim under bucket conversion
$1000 for new pistons
$1500 for head porting.

thats 7k right there.

Plus exhaust, plus intake.

Keep the blacktop head, get a 4AGZE bottom, get a turbo, get a Microtech.

Or, sell the blacktop motor, buy a cheaper silvertop, and do what I just said (turbo, GZE bottom end etc)

Remove the supercharger and bolt on a turbo is the basic way of saying it.

But a blacktop in a KE20 should be more than enough fun.

Are you racing it competitively?

You are going to just dismiss the black top you already own and go buy another engine with such haste? Shocked someone must be loaded.

As has already been suggested, post a pic of your motor.

you have the engine, and a brother who most likely has exp with that particular motor.

Drop that into the KE and enjoy. If you were starting from scratch and didn't have a motor it would be a different scenario.. but you have been lucky enough to obtain one for free.

A stocker blacktop in a ke20 would be heaps of fun! Get some filter socks and a nice exhaust (for driving enjoyment Smile) a good suspension setup and you would have a little go-kart!
