My biased suggestion is 4AGZE or 4AGTE, enough poke to have fun in a small light car Very Happy. Relatively easy to fit. You should tell us what you want form the car though as it will help people give a more informed decision

See here for details and pics of mine:

im really looking at just a good show car with enough power to have enough fun. i Cant really justify a turbo cos of all the extra aftermarket stuff i have to buy. I dont have infinite cash (unfortunately) i was thinking a 4age 20v black top. Fitting is no problem my dads a mechanic. I can get a front cut for $2200.

Hummmm 20v blacktop it's a little different. But how about the mazda 1.8lt v6 from the Eunos but it might just be "a little hard" in converting to RWD.
But nar the 20v does seam the go. But considering its to go into a '25 just get the motor, loom and computer cause you don't need the rest unless you planning on selling the leftovers.

in that case, either work a 4K, or a 5K or a 7K, and use quad TB's with EFI. that will give you plenty of poke to have fun without killing you too quickly.
