I have 2 pairs of good gas hatch struts from RA28's, I'll see if I can confirm they are a carry over to the RA40 and let you know?!

Hey thanks for your reply, do you know if the rotors you have are roadworthy? Do you by any chance also have the flexible brake hoses attached in decent condition?
I assume the Struts themselves are in good nick? The ones on my car are leaking!
How much for the lot? Im in Melbourne, so would need to be sent over. But more than happy to pay postage.

Mate I recently put all new flexible hoses on my RA40 as well as new rear brake cylinders. It was worth the few dollars. The hoses cost me a little over twenty bucks each from repco and i'd much rather pay that price then use second hand brake hoses.

Thanks for your reply, so Repco, should have these in stock or should be able to get them for me? I didnt bother asking as I kida assumed they would be a fairly unique item and only a brake place would have them.
I had a new muffler fitted at Midas recently, and they told me about the hoses. They quoted me $200 to replace all 4. I was almost going to get them to do it as well. But would rather save the cash.
Thanks for your post, I appreciate your comments.

As he said, dont use second hand brake lines, new ones are only a few bucks and worth every cent.
Also Id like to take your money for the struts, but youd be better off going to the wreckers and getting a good pair of ra 60 struts, same thing bigger brakes.
i have the 40 struts, if you really want to go that way, they are off my 40 and in ok condition.
Also i am coming to melb in a couple of weeks and could bring them over for you

Repco and I were in disagreement over the hoses though, they were sure that there were four hoses on the Ra40 and there was only three on mine. Maybe there are different models in the same year. The later 40 came with a different axle with a anti roll bar. The back hose is the dearer one, and had to be ordered in special order. The rear wheel cylinders were really cheap and greatly improved the braking. They were leaking a tiny amount but air will penetrate the system even before theres a fluid leak through the tinyiest of holes.

Hey Gazza53, if you still have those struts, I will buy them off you. Locating RA60's and fitting them sounds like trouble, so I will just install RA40's im not looking to improve the handling so to speak, just gett he car roadworthy.
