Hey people im new to the forums and i just wanna ask a couple of questions for people who have these cars.
Firstly I cannot find a dedicated power (POSITIVE +) anywhere. There are a few on the thingy where the blinkers, acc and horn connect (whatever it is called) and there would probably be one on the clock the wireing relay might be a bit weak tho. Splicing a wire would be annoying but i guess i have to. Anyone who has this car or similiar what is the best thing to do?
Also do any of you guys/gals have pictures of a standard din unit in the celica? what sort of things did you have to do? I'm able to do this all myself but it is easier with someone telling me all the tricks n stuff, saves me learning, and swearing
Thanks
Daniel

mate its easy as!
if you want a permanent wire, tap out of the brake lights fuse, b4 the fuse in the fuse box area.
do the same if you need an ACC signal too.
The easiest way to get it mounted nicely is to get rid of the old plastic shit, and make a piece of ply or something that goes down like the old one did, and cut the correct hole in it for the deck, and the demister switch too.

Don't go near the break light fuse! That's what's been done on mine and everytime I put my foot on the break when I'm running my sub and amp the sterio cuts out. It would be better to run it off an inline fuse I've been told to avoid this problem.

it's best to run a wire straight to the battery for your permanent +12v.

Hey Guys,
I put a cd player in the normal console in a RA28 with out too many probs, see the pic.
I fixed the basket to the underside of the dash where there is a pit of metal, i used some green plugs (rawl plugs) as spacers and it worked sweet.
I got my permanent power from the fuse box, but i was only running the head unit, no amp. This worked fine for me.
If i was running an amp i'd run a bigger (4mm min) from the battery to the amp, but you can power the head from the fuse box.
I got the acc power from the old radio loom.
I havent done any of this to the new RA28 as it has A/C and the head unit wont fit! so i'll have to make a custom center console...
on second thoughts i cant attach the pic cos the option isnt there!! wtf?? does someone want to host if for me??
