2TG Carbies + filters in KE15? :) and boss kit for KE15? +pics Mon, 28 October 2002 15:13 Go to next message
hey,

i just recently bought a Ke15 with a 2TG donk in it with the stock solex carbies...

The bloke who had it before me changed the brake master cylinder for makings of the room for 2TG Wink and as the carbies clear it but about 30-40mm, im left with no filters

and for the fact that im going to use the car for an autocross car, this leaves me with a bit of a delima! Sad What filters could i fit in such a tight space? ill try and get a photo as soon as posible of the donk in the engine bay..

and another Q... where would i get a boss kit for a Ke15 and how much are they worth (i kno nothing about them Razz the bloke gave me a "sports" wheel and said it needs a boss kit.. i really gotta change the wheel cause the stock sprinter wheel looks like its from a bus Confused )

Tnanks in advance for the help Smile

btw: im itching to get this car going, friday im rippen the dif out and welding it BUAHAHAHAH Evil or Very Mad

from k&n website :

1972 TOYOTA Celica AUTO 1.6L L4 CARB E-2488 Air Filter DOHC (2TG-Eng.)

E-2488 is the K&N Part number dude.

Steering wheel looks to be a SAAS Black Jack. I can't remeber the part number for the boss kit but I will check it out and let you know tomorrow, 31/10/02. Can be ordered from your local Repco Auto Parts store. Retail is about $100, but you can usually negogiate a better deal.

thanks for the replys, i found the filter that im after

Mikuni Solex 40, 44, 48 PHH, Dellorto DHLA 40, 45, 48
4 1/2" x 7" height: 3/4" part no: KN561310

BUT i priced em at repco for 160$ EACH!! i wouldnt complain if it was only one, but as u can see i need 2 :/

at 160 each the combined price is mroe than half what i payed for the car..

Anyone else got any other ideas (or even ways to get cheap K&N filters)

Come on i know there is a heap of u 2TG guys, although its not EFi its still a 2TG ! Razz HELP ME OUT PLEASE Smile

SAAS catalogue lists as follows
Part# Model Year
39 corolla ke10-ke16 1000-1300 67-70
40 corolla ke20 1200 70-74
41 corolla ke30-ke70 74-84

Your local Repco store will be able to order from SAAS if you give them a part number. Repco use "BK##" for the deep dish wheels and "BK##L" for the longer boss version used for flat-faced wheels. Hope this helps.

Thanks Jimmy

but can someone help me out with the filters PLEASE!!!!!!!!

i can pretty much confirm i have about 40mm of room at the very back of the carbies..

even ram tubes will do the job, as long as i can get filters/socks for them

any ideas ?

we moved the master booster infront of the carbs right behind the rad when we put an 18rg into a ke30, there are many remote booster cars around if you want to go that way, you could also make your own filters up.

Hey jimmy good to see another FNQ member

thinking of going down the remote booster route now, how hard is it and what do i need to do?

if i move the booster, it frees up enough room so i can go down to autobarn and buy some filters to fit in 5cm of room
