[AE86] Willy's 4AGE ADM - 56K die
|

First things first, the pics are absolutely huge... But I couldn't be bothered cropping them down so screw ya's...
I bought this beauty on the the 6th, well my dad bought it for me, I hadnt even seen it in real life until it arrived on my doorstep... It cost me $2300... Which seems good considering its a 4AGE (even though it needs reconditioning and wiring done) and the body is straight with only a tiny bit of rust...
Its got 300000+ kms but I wasnt particularly worried as the seller produced regular maintanence receipts... It went out of rego on Feb 2004, But with a small amount of work (apart from the engine) it should pass no worries...
It even had the service manual, and the original rust protection warranty (unfortunately only a 6 year warranty). Theres loads of paperwork for the blueslip, including emissions tests, dyno readouts and brake tests. It looks as though the emergency floor-jack and the spare tyre have never been touched... This is all due to the owner before the latest one... The guy i bought it off had let it go to wreck and ruin... letting the car run out of rego... not finishing the wiring of the engine... allthough I do not blame him at all... He could have got double for it easy if it was looked after more...
The suspension has been upgraded... with adjustable shocks in the front, 2" lower and harder springs... enormous whiteline swaybars... and monroe GT gas shocks... I am not sure what diff its running so I added a pic of it... I think there is a chance it has an LSD or a spool etc. but not sure...
It originally had a 4puck Exedy clutch but it was changed to just an Exedy heavy duty... There is only a little rust near the bottom of the sill... and a tiny bit at the top of the windscreen... The roof of the paint is very very faded...
Im sick of typing now...
heres the pics...
I haven't had a chance to wash her yet, Im sure it will be a very emotional experience...
The interior is really messy
Is this a JDM 4AGE??? The wiring looks like spaghetti
Anyone know what brand of wheels these are???
Red fuel caps are all the rage in Japan!!
WHat diff is this??? Notice the whiteline sway...
I hope you like it... well its not very pretty at the moment... but it will be eventually... and I will baby this like all my cars... only I wont be selling this one!
Keal

Hey Keal,
Yep its my old Baby!!!!!!
good to see its going to get back to its good old glory, was such a fun little car.
Sad to see it got to this state, can't wait to see it running again. That was one great little motor.
You will have to bring it out for a cruise when you get it running again. It use to have a microtech in it.
The diff was standard when I sold it, I think he blew it though so not sure what he put in it.

It was just the standard one. I also gave him one out of a celica that he may of fitted which was a bit bigger, can't tell with that picture with if it is changed or not. Standard one ran fine so I never bothered changing to the celica one.

Im looking at getting the engine reconditioned...
Dont know how much its going to hurt the budget but the compression was pretty bad so it needs attention...
Thanks for the nice comments guys... Keep them coming!
Oh and Ribbo.. good job on keeping the paperwork... it will help me getting rego again...

nice buy... diff looks bigger than a s-series... bset way to check lsd is to jack the car up on one side... make sure the other side's rear wheel is on the ground, turn hand brake off and see if the lifted wheel turns
|
and then see if your car and foot survive too when it comes crashing down

some one thinks that hes tellin keal to drive the car, all he means is spin the wheel, if its non lsd the wheel with the least amount of weight on it should spin right? and if it doesnt then its lsd. if ur a dumbass and dont use briks to hold the car from moving then yes u will have a disaster

UPDATE! Engine is in!!
|
Sun, 27 February 2005 08:05
|
|
Well, after a full weekend of solid work, and lots of help from all my mates, thanks guys! The Engine is in!... It will be wired and running either next weekend or next...
I've done a few other things to it as well...
The engine after we brought it home from SSS Automotive... I get a 3 month warranty when I get the computer sent out... but I've got a spare one to run it on so I can get the most out of my warranty...
Got rid of that big TOYOTA badge... makes the grille look much smoother...
Also pulled of the chrome strips... (sorry Ribbo, im not sure if you liked them but I didn't really)
Cleaned up the engine bay and painted various bits...
Put the gearbox on... Its just the standard clutch... but its pretty new...
Mmm... shiny... it took hours of polishing to get them looking even this good...I think I could have done them more but i'm satisfied...
She's in! It took us a while to get the right "angle of the dangle"
I cleaned the gearbox a bit, you'd have to be obsessive compulsive to do it any more than I did... I was bored stiff after about 1 hour...
Popped the bonnet on and put on some other stuff like the air filter...
Do I even need to write anything about this picture?
Im so glad that I have a car that I love... I really love working on it and I will be ecstatic when it's finished... I just hope everyone likes what I've done with it so far...
And thanks again to all my mates, I couldn't have done it without you!
