As Paul said, metallic is like a mirror... It's also illegal...
Car looks OK, apart from the dented guard where someone thoughtfully reversed into my car while it was parked.... And then drove off without leaving their details.
I've had the Decepticons idea for a couple of years now. Just finally got them cut when I was getting the tint.
Bonnet was raised to try to stop the turbos from frying the master cylinders. Hasn't really worked though.

Yuck!! I know I need one, but I'm trying every other possible solution first!
BTW, the tint depends on the car, but is approx $240. Less if you don't want metallic.
I got it done at CarMate.

Seen a very good decepticon stick. It had the symbol and underneath was written "I transform into an FA-18"
Very amusing i thought.
What does yours transform into Nark?

Hey, the stickers make me laugh!
And I'm not really sure what my car transforms into... I just hope it doesn't start killing people... It'll be hard to explain that to my Mum.........

I thought metallic tint just meant it had metallic content, so it doesn't go shitty and fade purple.
Mirror tint is illegal for a reason.

Hey Max, I think your car would look trick if you replaced the rear side-flare vents with lights from the States! I can hook it up with some if you'd like. If you blacked them out they'd look sweet!

You mean like I did ages ago (maybee 1st person in Australia??)
http://www.speedtoys.com/~stefan/sidelights.html
I like them a lot more than the vents
Ahhh... what would be the point of going to the effort of replacing the (black) vents with sidelights and then tinting them, err... black????????? Seems completely pointless and pretty stupid to me.

the vents can actually be really useful, like if you want to (legally) mount a battery in the boot of your car, those vents are perfect for the required venting to atmosphere (I'll post on how successfully that goes)
speaking of, if you get a dry cell bettery, do you still need it vented to stmosphere?

Nope, I believe you can mount it in the cabin if you want.

well, the usual reason is that batteries give of hydrogen gas when they're being used (being largely sulfuric acid and all).
and unfortunately hydrogen gas quite flammable, so they try and stop that. anything from the factory is legal pretty much, hence why harleys can go around making shitloads of noise and not all be illegal.
the dry cell batteries dont have sulfuric acid in them (such is my understanding) and as such can be mounted in the cabin without a box & ventilation
