3TGT Probs with Haltech/Ignition

Any ideas please guys...
I have fitted a 3TGT with old F7B Haltech to my TA22 (Tweety). It has taken many weeks to get it running. Now it finnaly runs but so bad that I took it to a Dyno to get tune.
They say that there is a big problem SOMEWHERE as it is showing 1500 on Tacho but the computer is reading 3000 and pulsing the injectors accordingly! Its an old F7B on standard 3TGT with a lil 13B Icooler. My uneducated guess is that its something stuffed in the dizz/pick-up. Appreciate any advice if anyone has ever come across anything like this before.
Many thanks
Mitch
PS. Anyone have a spare 3TGT dizz I can borrow or buy???

Hi Mitch
I don't know the f7b but i presume it would be similar to what i am running from haltech
F9-8a and a Ig-5
the f9 has dip switches (filters) inside the case ( needs back pulling of case to get to them) that need setting to eliminate cross feed as i know when i have these set wrong i end up with the same problem
Other wise you may have the divide by setting wrong on the igintion input
Not saying this is correct information for the f7b mitch but it is worth a look

Thanks guys.
Jamie, ive got the Dyno guy calling scott and Dave? at Haltech to see what settings the switches should be on. I sent the F7B to Haltech last week for them to charge $75 to say its in perfect nic.
Am replacing the old coils with standard crap coils for now incase its that. Will buy better coils if the old ones dont improve it. He has reroutd some of the wires to isolate the interference. Still nothing. He has used 2 oscilloscopes to tru to find the prob and it still runs perfectly to about 3K then starts playing silly buggers.
It only ever ran on the Haltech (bought as a job lot...silly me) so I was told.
Only good news is that the Dyno guy Peter Dowling at @ Autotech said that the engine appears to be very healthy and in good nic. NOW ALL I NEED IS IT TO RUN PROPERLY!!!!
All suggestions greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Mitch

Re: 3TGT Probs with Haltech/Ignition (solved!) but lots of smoke...

Jamie
You were right on the money mate! After my Dyno guy spent much time surfing for someone who knew the correct settings, he set the dip switcheds and it fired up and ran fine.
Pity the engine is a bloody smoker though. Everyto=ime a change gears it blasts out a heap of blue smoke. Dont think its the turbo as no white smoke.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what besides the obvious couls cause it to be such a 'heavy smoker'?
Thanks for your responses guys...at least I can drive the lil bugger now!
Cheers
Mitch

white smoke is sometimes power steer or atm fluid
a fukt turbo blows out blue smoke
if u get smoke between gear changes thats when u have max vacuum
so its either valve stem seals or can even be turbo
just clean all yr turbo pipes and then go for short drive then recheck yr pipes

Mitch, glad to hear that you have sorted it.
As far as blue smoke goes, I can only resonate what sideshow has said. I would start with the turbo (about $165 to replace the CT20 with a second hand unit).
