Why would you need to change the rear main seal when doing your timing belt?

I am pretty sure the tensioner number starts with a 52 not 54, all my gear is from the gen 3, i dont know that they are diffrent. the belt number is T865. unless you are changing the clutch or the rmos is leaking i would leave it alone. the timing cover (front balancer) seal number i dont remember, sorry. while you have everything off the front of the motor you could change the oil pump seal and cam shaft seals.

OK..was just trying to cover all angles here...
So no need to change seals..if they're not leaking fine.
So it's just the belt - If anyone can correct the part number great.Tensioner - again correct part number needed.Camshaft seals..part number ?

Did I miss anything else ? Oh it's a Gen 3

Thanks

the tensioner number is 52tb058b05. if you go to a cbc (consolidated bearing company) dealer and give them the t865 number they will give you the right belt, you can also get the tensioner from there. i will send the cam seal number to you from work tomorrow.

I know you've probably already decided to do this, but for heavens sake DON'T miss the cam seals, because they are prone to leaking if you dont' change them.

Bah.. Take it from experience, you need those bits replaced, or they cause problems.

But, if your in there, the bottom end bearings aren't that hard to get to.
