Well im kind of in the market for a new car and saw two examples of these hatches at Sydney City Toyota.Originally I wanted the Ascent hatch but if I can stretch my budget to a Sportivo it would be even better. What does everyone think I should pay for a Sportivo hatch ? they are asking $28,990 which to me seems abit to much but I guess thats dealer prices for yah. Also what does everyone think of the Ascents etc ?

you can't compare an accent normal corolla to the sportivo.

the sportivo is great value for money. 141kw engine and 6 speed box, leather interior, factory body kit, 16" wheels, upgraded brakes suspension etc, climate control, 6 cd player etc

they are sweet as. and privately they are about $25K from what i've seen so a delaer price a little hgiher than that is fair. they may offer extended warranty or something for you if bought from the dealer.

	My ascent is pretty good....

though it's no where near as nice as a sportivo...

sportivo has every thing I wish my ascent had...

if I'd been able to stretch my budget -> I would have bought a sportivo without any doubt. I regret not waiting.

	Put it this way...

I destroyed an Ascent hatch yesterday

Despite the TRD stickers.

Sportivo would have probably kept up with me.

Don't judge all ascents by one win.

You might have gone up against a driver who wasn't prepared to hit the rev limiter, or enjoy the wonder of getting to 105 / 110 or so in second gear........

	Dude go the stivo.
If you live around the liverpool area and cant decide screemin_rolla ownes a sportivo and im sure he will give you a ride in it.

After goin in it i guarente you will buy one and wont look back.
His one isnt standard but im sure you will modify yours.

The sound, feeling and speed (limit) is all addictive

Cheers
Richard

Oh and when you keep up with BA XR8's just say "dude its only a corolla"

I seen screaminrolla's car twice in cambo great example love it, Only thing that I don't like is the high powerband and bad early gearing that means that it falls off the second cams in first second third changes, otherwise great value for money package, with the update model coming out prices should drop more to. I had thought about one will be getting a car maybe at end of this year so far I have the idea of Clio Sport, Caldina Gt-t if available, Sportivo Corolla or LIberty say My2001

Just get an ascent, then whack on the factory supercharger...faster than the Sportivo (read: torqueless wonder), and the springs in the Sportivo are not 'sporty' enough for mine, they only lower 1 inch not sure how much stiffer they are, just get SL Kings in there (got them on my ascent).

Another problem (i think it's a problem; you might like it) is the Sportivo is basically an Ascent with an extra 2000 rpm form what i have heard. It doesn't reaally start to boogey till 6,000+ rpm.

	Yeah ok do that then.

TRD charger kit.... NOT cheap
Springs+shocks.....$1300+install
brakes.....???? (sportivo has larger front than the other models)
Automatic climate control....????
Leather interior.....?????
Then your still missing a gear and left with the resale value of an ascent

ascent= 1zz-fe 100kw vvt-i
sportivo=2zz-ge 141kw vvtL-i

Cam changeover point is at 6grand and stops reving at 8G's

Its up to you dude but i know which way i would go

yes and i love the sound of screemin_rolla's car its off its tits, and apparently the supercharger kit for the 100kw corolla creates a lot of power but no traction.

As much as I love the Sportivo I think a Type-R would own it..

But I have been more than casually thinking about upgrading to one of these lately..

a type r would probablly own a stock one, but i think my slightly modded one might have a good chance

If you guys are serious about your sportivos or celicas with 2zz in em i have a contact for you

race prepped heads that a dude was marketing toward the lotus' with this engine now in it.

it goes heaps harder and will reliably hold stupidly high revs under race conditons whereas the factory 2zz head apparently has issues with this area
