not for me as this doesnt exactely apply to a ta22 but am asking for a mate who has a 92 integra ls ( non vtec engine) and is trying to get some more power.
anyhow he wants to get the engine chipped specifically through these guys- www.powerchipgroup.com - they state that their $700 or $800 chip will increase his engine power from 103kw to 118kw and torque will also increases accordingly.
1. can these claim be backed up?
2. anyone had any experiences chipping their cars...good or bad?
3. the key question- is it worth the money...
thanks for your help

1. Get them to dyno the car before and after at their expense is the only true test. To me that clain sounds ambitous.
2. I've heard average to bad reports about powerchip chips.
3. If you get that stated horsepower increase for that price, I would say yes, worth the $$$. But I don't think you will with
those of any other chips really.

$53 per kw? doesnt sound like great value to me... but if he's got the money, then why not. spose its about the same gain as a stupid 4" cat back drainpipe and a pod filter.

$800 'chips' aren't worth it.
Spend $1200 on a programmable ecu, and get it tuned.
Then you can tune it every other week for under $100, instead of needed ANOTHER $800 'chip' after you do some mods.

You aint going to get shit out of chipping a honda, i dont give 2 fucks what powerchip state that they can acheive out of it. I been there and done it, you will find that you will get more power from a decent set of headers and exhaust, or just save up 5k and get a turbo kit from AVO here in melbourne. It aint just Hondas that they talk shit about, V8 commodore motors supposed to acheive an extra 15-20kw just from ecu modding alone with a stock engine (GARBAGE) and the same comments is that that they aslo got more gain from just a cat back exhaust. Maybe that says something for the quality of a holden exhaust lol, but seriously it aint worth the 800 bucks.
Cheers Adam
