hey i got a r31 diff in my corona one wheeler and its dead very dead
i got a quote for $1300 for
*brand new lsd
*brand new pinion and gear 4.11 ratios
but i have to take the diff out do u think its cheap

Umm, my diff was $500 to rebuild, and new gears were about $600 from Toyota I think.
Give Nissan a call and see what it costs for new Ring and Pinion for an R31 Pintara.

Brand new lsd is worth about 600-700 and the same for the new pinion gear esp in a 4.11 as they are the rarest to come by with the borgies. So you could prob do better if you bargin and shop around.

the R31 silhouette comes LSD and 3.7, the rest of the R31's are 3.9, only the pintara's are 4.11.
so long as the hemisphere is not offset to correct for different size of the R&P it SHOULDNT be a problem to transplant a silhouette LSD.
but i'm pretty sure a VN S/SS is the exact same diff center

All R31 Skylines have the 4 pinion 28 spline bogwarmer, and the LSD from a falcon, commodore, R31, etc. - anything that uses that diff - can be easily stuffed in there. Auto R31s had 3.889 gears, which are the noisiest and most failure prone of all the bogwarmer gears. Manual ones used the 3.7s.
The Pintara's used the 2 pinion, 25 spline bogwarmer.
