seriously dude, just actually start looking...

oil is wet and oily. you could even just use your clean finger to touch stuff to see where the oil is...

the trick is, oil usually goes DOWN, so there will be oil BELOW the leak.

if you look with your eyeballs, you will see where the oil is coming from.. simple as that..
when you see where it comes from, then diagnose why it's leaking..

if that's too much.. mechanic time...

I only just got it and drove in back from Brisbane (8 hour drive) and arrived back not to long ago and realised that there is oil leaking but I am to tied to check it at the moment and thought I would come on here and see if there has been any problems with the 4AGE engine's at all.

Cheers

all engines (even new ones) can leak oil, and usually do from somewhere. just have a look tomorrow and it should be apparent where it's coming from... that will help you narrow down the question of why it's leaking Smile

The front or rear main seal could have had it usually the front main seal is gone. This is located near the oil pump and usually means that oil will leak all over the sump. If this is your problem and your gonna get it fixed you might as well change the timing belt and the water pump while your at it.

one of the common places for a oil leak on the 4age/ze is from the distributor oil seal. one way to check is lean into your engine bay and run your finger under the dizzy, it comes out all oily then that's probably where it's leaking from.

maybe you should give it a degrease and go for a quick spin and see if you can spot where the oil is coming from like oldcorollas mentioned. put it up on some car ramps if you have any, will make it heaps easier to see where it might be coming from.

Give it a good clean down as said, and see if you can get friendly with some kind of local mechanic and if they'll let you put the car on a hoist for a few minutes in exhange for a few $/cans. It's lovely to be able to walk under a car and see what's up with it!
