MA61 + 1J + digital dash = confusing fuel guage.

I've got a MA61 that's had a 1j conversion, everything is cool except the fuel guage doesn't function properly. I'll fill the tank up full, the guage will show full untill I turn the car off. Then it will either show completely empty or one or two bars. From then on it's all over the shop untill I fill up again.
Any ideas how to fix it? Oh, it's got a walbro fuel pump and a malpassi FPR. Should I just get an aftermarket guage or something?

The conversion will not touch the fuel guage, unless you have bumped something.
Is your fuel pump external or internal.
If its internal, you have probably knocked something.
I'd be checking the sender too.

Here here. It could also be the guage playing up in the dash, but more likely the sender

Kinda - it reads up to 3600rpm and then winks out. I'm guessing that the tacho booster isn't boosting. I'm going to borrow another booster to test this theory.

What tacho
The little indicator square lights up, but it doesn't move. I figured that I'd just get some after market tacho, cause i'd heard what a bitch it was to get the stock tacho working.

Whilst mine hasn't been tested with the engine running, it was a POP to install a sixworks tacho adapter, and it works as advertised on the test setting, so it isn;'t that hard if I can do it !!

Yeh, go the SIxworks tacho-booster. Either I got the one-in-a-million faulty unit, or (more likely) didn't wire it up properly.

Oh okay, where can I get one of those from and how much? I'd rather not have some wanky looking monster tacho if I can avoid it, even though I like analogue guages better.

Maybe your tacho can accept other signals? My dash works off coil voltage, and the 1G tacho signal is something altogether different.
