AC stuffin up on st162?? strange button flashing Mon, 14 February 2005 16:01 Go to next message
Hey does anyone know what is going on when the air conditioning button starts flashing ON then 1 second later off. then on then off in 1 second intervals???

it did it on a hot day... My Air conditioning is not exactly the coldest of systems and i believe the gas may need topping up

When i went to bursons they mentioned something about puttin retro fit Caps on the piping and i will be able to get it regased from work.. Is this true?
anyone know of any prices?

I think my car still has the standard piping

Thanx again
Adrian

The flashing indicator lights usually meanings a problem with the compressor or perhaps a slipping drive belt.

yeah, or the wire with the blue plug that comes off the compressor has come undone.. it's a skinny wire with the plug about 20cm off the compressor

but it can be that the compressor is seizing/grabbing so it has an auto-off thingy

This exact problem happened to my 91 Camry tears ago. Turned out it was the a/c circuit board under the dash.

Was expensive then but I couldn't get one fromthe wreckers
