Hi All,
Has anyone experience billow of white smoke when starting the engine cold on a Corolla AE101 model? It happens every time I start the engine without fail. Please help!!
the 4A motors seem to do this when they get a bit older. Usually more greyish black smoke from oil burning. Oil leaks through the seals when stationary into the combustion chamber. Or build up at base of valve then when crank engine gets burnt.
My 1986 4age did this though it wasn't real bad like some cars where you sit at lights then take off and spits out smoke.

is the smoke white like as in clouds? then it is very likely that it is head geasket related.

I think you mean blueish white smoke for oil seals/rings
Greyish black means you got carby/fuel problem, and the car is running rich.
White smoke is different it means headgasket/crack head as the coolant/water leaks
