Toy diesel + k50... tough tech

Hey guys, you've answered every question I've had so far but maybe this one will stump you
The toyota 2ct which is a 2lt turbo diesel from hiaces etc apparently bolts right up to a k50 box with no adapters at all. This is what I've heard but looking for confirmation, anyone know for sure?
If this is so how would a k50 stand up to 180nm Looking at this for my 4wd.

hmm C motors used in corollas too...
i have no idea about the C motors, but the hiace 5K has a removable bellhousing that fits up to T50's...
do you have a 2C?
if you want to trace the bellhousing pattern onto it and send to me, i'll check on my K boxes?
as for K50 getting 180Nm? not likely
you'd be better off using a %K to T50 adaptor, as the T50 will handle much more torque.
4WD? how do you get a K50 to work in 4WD?

Don't have a 2c unfortunately mate, wish I did it'd make life easy!!! Those links are interesting but bloody confusing
The k50 would probably crap itself hey?
As for 4wd it runs a really short jackshaft to the transfer case, it's a suzuki part time 4wd nothin fancy

hmm, so the transfer case is totally seperate to the gearbox??
seriously, if you can fit a K50, then you can fit a T50.. there's a T50 with same output splines, same length, same shifter position, and there is a bellhousing to suit also...
hmmm.... find out what the 2C came in (since all 2C blocks have to be pretty similar right?) then nick down to a dodgy wrecker, pull off the AUTO bellhousing adaptor .. or ask to borrow one?
hmm 2L turbo diesel 4wd suzuki? sound slike an intersting (but good) way to go about things
good luck!!

ps, or you could take off the auto bellhousing adaptor from a corolla traumatic gearbox (KE30) and take that around to commercial wreckers and see if it fits a 2C that might be easier...

Correctamundo
What t50 would I be looking out for that would swap straight in there? A particular vintage?

hmmmm, methinks it's the TA22 or T18 box... but hey, i have nfi when it comes to them all i know is that both those have the correct output splines.. someone else should be able to chime in.
and there are both cable (rare, i only know of 2-3) and hydraulic (not so rare) K to T bellhousings.

C uses the same bellhousing that S does, which means that K or T-series box wont just bolt whitout modifying. I'm pretty sure that for example 1C Lite-Ace uses W or G-series box. My 1C Corolla has W51.

Ah I see. I just wanted to know if a 2ct would go in using the box I have now but it looks like not
Anyone else know for sure?
